Nuclear Winter

I have been asked to guest direct the "wanna be a star" short film for First Sundays.

What does this mean? Well, First Sundays is a comedy festival that happens every month at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater in the East Village. Each month they randomly pick an audience member who wants to star in the next film. Then they ask the audience to shout out a title for the film. Finally, they get a director to make it all happen.

My film is called "Nuclear Winter" and it stars audience member Tom Henning.

Writer/Actor/Performer Kevin Maher will be co-starring in the film.

First Sundays
Sunday, September 3rd - 7:00pm
Pioneer Theater
155 East 3rd Street (between Ave A and B)
New York, New York 10009

Hope to see you there!

Ice Cream Ants - Film Review

Thanks to Patricia Freeman at Independentfilm.com for the glowing review of Ice Cream Ants!

She writes:

“Ice Cream Ants” by writer, director, editor Jeremy Carr, brings us into the neo film noir world of “Lover,” and contains incredible dialogue and acting. Trapped in a nightmare world, Lover (played with an understated strength by Marcus Ashley) is compelled on a journey where his interactions with a temptress (played by the incomparable Goth femme fatal Jill Tracy) and a barstool philosopher (played by the great character actor Tom Noonan) force him to confront his own inner demons. Carr’s climactic bar scene offers a veritable cinematic feast of light and sound, of comedy and drama, as we watch Lover interact with a host of unusual and engaging barflies who would definitely find Cheer’s too bright and tame of a joint. As the story concludes and the viewer ponders the greater significance of the final frames, Carr’s brilliant storytelling emerges and continues to resonate long after the credits roll."

Scriptapalooza TV Contest

Just got word that "The REAL Deal", a TV Pilot script that I co-wrote with my brother Scott, has won FIRST PLACE in the Scriptapalooza TV Competition (www.scriptapalooza.com).

We couldn't be happier. This is a project that we have been developing for the last year, and it's the first contest we've entered it into.

Now to get it on television...
